Start-up Camp
![]()
Start-up Camp is four fantastic days of teaching, training, prayer, planning, worship and fellowship.
We’ve got some important work to do before O-Week, but Start-up Camp also gives us a chance to focus our thoughts and energies on the year ahead.
With new students also comes new opportunities to fulfil our aim of proclaiming Jesus Christ at University in 2012. Come join us!
Whether you’re a 1st year student settling in, or an old hand about to graduate, come and be deliberate about making the most of your time at uni for the sake of the Lord Jesus and his kingdom.

Start-up Camp is immediately before O-Week, i.e.,
6:30pm Thursday 16th Feb. — 2pm Sunday 19th Feb.
(This year Griffith Gospel Students will also be joining us from Thursday night till Saturday afternoon. Check with Geoff for details including cost.)
N.B. There is no dinner served on Thursday night on arrival – so make sure you eat before you leave home, or perhaps organise with your driver to stop somewhere for dinner on the way.
There are a couple of shops at the top of the mountain (cnr Beacon Rd & Main Western Rd; as well as down Main St) where you can grab a bite to eat. But remember that even the best “fast-food” shops can take some time if everyone arrives at the same time!

This is where we’re going,
“Camp Panorama”
237 Beacon Road
North Tamborine, QLD, 4272
If you’re planning to drive, can you offer others a lift?
If you need help with transport someone will contact you in the days before camp to organise it with you.

Because we’ll be doing some planning for the semester it would be really helpful if you could bring your semester 1 timetable so you can have some idea of what times you’re free to get involved.
It’s only for a few nights, but it’s still good to make sure you pack everything you’ll need. Here’s a few things not to forget…
- semester 1 timetable
- Bible & pen
- bedding (sheets & blanket, or sleeping bag)
- pillow
- towel and toiletries
- insect repellant
- sunscreen & hat
- rego money (why not consider ES membership, T-shirt, or bookstall money too?)
- …plus anything else to have fun with others–e.g., board games, sporting equipment etc.
Start-up Camp is $100 per person. Payment can be made on arrival at camp by cash or cheque (payable to “UQ Evangelical Students”).
