ES Westside Mission

Mission is coming up!
It should be a great week to serve, but also to grow and step out our comfort zones. And also just to have a lot of fun!

Here’s what it is in most basic form:
-3 day kidsclub in Inala (supporting SU chappies in the area)
- helping out Christ Community West – church services, doorknocking and BBQs

Accommodation: We’ll be staying in a church hall in Inala.
Cost: $50 for food.

For more specific’s here’s Tim’s great summary of what the week will probably look like:

Sunday starts off with the morning service at Christ Community Church, where Dan will be giving the sermon and some of us giving testimonies. Afterwards we’ll be going to peoples’ houses and baking brownies (yum!) for the doorknocking later in the week, and finally settling into the church for the night.

Monday through Wednesday we’ll be helping out the Inala Kids Club from 8:30 until 12:30PM! It’ll be a superhero theme, so it should be pretty fun doing the short talks, drama, songs, craft and such with the primary school kids. After a bit of a break, we’ll be doorknocking in Corina and Darra from around 4-6PM, handing out the brownie gifts we made and inviting them to the events happening on Saturday. On Wednesday we’ll also be running a BBQ for both the parents and kids.

Thursday will be our day off, but we’ll probably be doing something cool together. Again, it’d be a good idea to take some extra money to cover anything we decide to do.

On Friday we’ll be doing prep for Saturday events. And of course on Saturday we’ll be helping out with the two family-friendly events in Darra and Corinda that we’ve been inviting people to – one each in the morning and afternoon.

We’ll end things where we began with the morning service on Sunday. Some of us will probably talk about the happenings of the week and potentially have a kids-themed talk or similar.
