Parables Mission

In week 4 of Semester (21st – 25th March) we have our Parables Mission.   Here’s what’s happening throughout the week.

Monday – All Day Prayer

All Day Prayer from 8am – 4pm in the Alumni Court.  God is the reason we’re doing this mission, and the reason we have Jesus and his parables at all, so what better way to start our mission than talking to God and asking for him to be with us throughout the week?  There’s a facebook event set up at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=207922432557304 so you can sign up for an hour slot throughout the day.

Tuesday and Friday

- Chai on Campus

On Tuesday, we’ll be serving free chai tea in the afternoons in the Great Court at 2pm, and using it as a chance to meet people and chat to them.

- Parables Walkup

We’ll be going out in pairs to people around the Great Court and asking if we can tell them one of Jesus’ parables.  We’ll be doing Walkup in hour blocks at 11,12,1 (Friday only) and 2.

Wednesday and ThursdayLive Parables

We’ll be running a BBQ at the Grassy Knoll with $1 sausages to attract a crowd, and from 11 to 2 we’ll be telling parables live, open air, just like Jesus did.  We’ll also have some Parables Reader Guides available for those who want to learn more.

To get involved

Come along to our Uni Bible Talks in Week 3 and there’ll be sheets to sign up, otherwise, talk to an Exec member or a Bible Study leader and they’ll be able to tell you who to talk to.  We’d love your help :)

Parables Walkup Training

We’ll be running Parables Walkup Training throughout Week 3 to show you how to learn a parable and get you confident in telling them.  We think this is so important we’ve organised 5 different times for training to reach as many people as possible.

  • 1pm Monday (14th),
  • 11am and 2pm Tuesday (15th),
  • 3pm Wednesday (16th)
  • 10am Thursday (17th)

Meet outside the Clocktower in the middle of Forgan Smith.
